Join us for the fourth in our lunchtime fireside chat series where we explore international perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in the critical materials supply chain.

This discussion will focus on the role of data in the supply chain, exploring issues around the lack of transparency in data or the lack of data entirely, and looking to the potential opportunities emerging technologies can play in addressing these challenges.

Jordi de Vos

Co-founder, Circularise

Jordi de Vos is a co-founder of Circularise B.V., a company dedicated to advancing the circular economy in the digital age.

His journey began with studies in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology, where he participated actively in academic societies. His entrepreneurial drive led him to launch a startup through the Yes!Delft program, eventually pivoting to focus on Business Administration. Jordi moved to the Open University to work on both Bachelor's and Master of Business Administration degrees, specializing in leadership, innovation management, and sustainability.

At Circularise, Jordi leverages his expertise in technology and business to spearhead Circularise's mission of creating a circular economy for organizations worldwide. Jordi's dedication to this cause is evident in his relentless pursuit of partnerships with strategic investors and his oversight of operations at Circularise as well as business expansion into Japan.

Outside of work, he enjoys gaming and holds a keen interest in cryptocurrencies, embodying a blend of business acumen, innovation, and environmental consciousness in his endeavors.

Gareth Hatch

Founder, Strategic Materials Advisory

Gareth Hatch is founder of UK-based Strategic Materials Advisory, a consulting and advisory firm operating in the critical-raw-materials sector. He was co-founder of USA-based Technology Metals Research, co-founder of Canada-based Innovation Metals Corp. and was previously Director of Technology at USA-based Dexter Magnetic Technologies, where he began his career focused on rare-earth permanent-magnet design and engineering. He is a named co-inventor on five US patents on magnetic applications.

Gareth is the Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor of Critical Minerals and Materials, at the University of Birmingham. He is a member of the UK ISO TC/298 Mirror Committee, working to develop international standards for the rare-earth industry, and is a Strategic Advisor to the Belgium-based Rare Earth Industry Association.

Gareth is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining and is a Chartered Engineer. He holds a B.Eng. (Honours) degree in materials science & technology and a Ph.D. in metallurgy & materials, both from the University of Birmingham, where he conducted postgraduate research focused on rare-earth permanent-magnet alloys.
